Here Goes Nothing…

5 Jan

I don’t really believe in resolutions, I think it’s the word resolution – it insinuates that there is some fault in you that needs to be resolved. Why can’t people just admit no one’s perfect, no one is without faults, you know? I embrace my faults, they are personality indicators, quirks perhaps. I am far from perfect and I know that.

So this year it’s all about goals. 2007 was an interesting year, to say the least, and I’ve never been a person who is all about the New Year and making goals or starting over. I needed 2007 to end, I needed to feel like I was really off to a clean slate. So I am embracing the end of 2007 and heading full force into the renewed energy that seems to be coming with 2008.

My friend Megan informed me this week that she started a blog. I’ve been thinking about it for a while now but never really was able to cross that line into full blog-dom. My attempts at journals (and yes, there have been about 3-4 attempts in the last couple years) never really stuck so I’m gonna give this route a shot. I just received a new computer that I adore (thanks to Deb, Terry and Yuki) and well, let’s be honest, I am a geek and usually online in some form – internet/email enabled phone and all. I figure I’ve sat through enough “to blog or not to blog” meetings with various clients in work scenarios that the pros and cons were already worked through.

So here goes nothing, and maybe here comes nothing – only time can tell on where this blog journey will take me. I hope both you the reader and I the blogger will find it entertaining. 🙂

*I feel like I need to add a disclaimer, some great things came of 2007 – my relationships with my closest friends continued to grow and strengthen, I started a new job that I really enjoy and I made some great memories. So don’t think I was all sad panda about 2007.

Mego will tell you, I like to comment excessively on people’s blogs. It’s how I honor the author. And how I kill time at work.

I am so glad you decided to follow through with this. If blogging in Italy was a preview of what is to come, then count me in.

Also, what if you fell? Seriously? What then?

After having served a tour of duty at “the former workplace” I would be the first to understand the importance of blog reading = to keep one’s sanity.

I was in a bit of a creative funk when the blog title/URL had to be created so I used the parody of my favorite movie, If Lucy Fell.

A full blog could (a.k.a will) be dedicated to comparing that movie to my life…stay tuned.
